Chapter 1

The Storm Arrives

Office – The Sheep Before the Lion

Monday morning. VS Industries.

Usually, Monday mornings meant sleepy faces, half-drunk coffee cups, and Excel sheets that no one wanted to open. But today? The entire office was in panic mode.

People were running inside the gates like it was an apocalypse. Some had files clutched to their chest like life depended on it. Even the security guards, who usually took their own sweet time scanning IDs, were suddenly hyper-efficient.

Because today wasn’t a normal day.

Today, the throne was changing hands.

Veer Singh Rathore was officially taking over as CEO.

For the past two years, he had been handling things from behind the curtain—and in that time, he had fired more people than HR could count. His strict, cold, no-nonsense tactics were legendary. He didn’t believe in second chances. If you made a mistake, you were gone.

If he was this terrifying from the shadows, what would happen now that he was stepping into the light?

“Bro, I heard he fired an entire department in one day just because their report had two spelling mistakes,” whispered one employee, eyes wide with fear.

“I heard he doesn’t smile. Like, ever,” another one added.

“I heard if you enter his cabin unannounced, you’ll disappear.”

“Disappear? Bro, is he a CEO or a mafia don?”

“Same difference, bro.”

The lift doors dinged open, and every single employee froze.

Veer Singh Rathore POV – The Lion Walks In

Black Armani suit. Gold cufflinks. Polished leather shoes that made no noise as he walked.

Veer Singh Rathore stepped into his office. His expression? Blank. Ruthless. Unreadable.

He didn’t need to say a word. The air shifted.

People held their breath as he walked past. No one dared to make eye contact. The temperature in the room felt like it dropped.

A few senior employees tried to smile at him—he didn’t smile back.

He walked straight to the CEO’s office and shut the door behind him.

The office exhaled in relief.

But no one dared to relax. Because the lion had entered the den. And the hunt was about to begin.
